Happy New Year 2019! This is your year. And, hopefully the year for your car too! If you are tired of making New Year resolutions that you simply cannot keep, perhaps it is time to focus your resolutions on better car care.  With car maintenance tips aplenty, we can help you piece together a list of car care resolutions that won’t just be simple to keep, but will actually save you a lot of money in the long run.

Now, we understand that you need to leave the complex tasks of car maintenance and repair up to the professionals. Think power steering repair, transmission repair, and major car services and overhauls. But that does not mean that there aren’t things you can do personally to improve on your car maintenance and ensure that you extend your vehicle’s lifespan.

Hey Car Owner…Here Are a Few Resolutions to Keep in 2019!

While you leave the major auto repair services to us, here are a few of our top suggested New Year resolutions that are perfect for the car owner:

  • Make a vow to never skip a tune-up or scheduled service. Your car comes with a service and maintenance schedule for a reason. Skipping it can cause you to void the warranty, and worse, experience some costly vehicle malfunctions and glitches.
  • Change the oil. Fresh oil is important, especially if your car is a few years old. You can change the oil yourself or ask your car mechanic to do it for you on a regular schedule.
  • Keep an eye on the health of your tires. Take a walk around your vehicle, check the thread pattern and make sure that you haven’t picked up any punctures along the way. You should also have the tire pressure checked every so often, just to make sure you don’t have a slow leak.
  • Keep the car clean inside and out. It might seem like extra effort, but washing your car can keep it free of dirt and grime that can damage the paintwork. Use car seat covers to protect the interior from stains.
  • Check and refill your vehicle fluids regularly. Running out of fluids can be extremely damaging to the vehicle. Take a look at fluid levels at least once a week.

Now that you have a few New Year resolutions, it is time to get started on them. And before we forget…Happy New Year!
